You are not paying enough Taxes!

That is what our Texas legislators think. We are not paying enough property tax. Two Constitutional Amendments are proposed on the November 3rd Ballot that would allow the State Government to tax our homes in addition to the City and County taxes we already pay. I personally don’t need the government to help me spend what little money I have left after the current taxes.

Almost all the school districts in the Dallas/Fort Worth and North Texas area are at the maximum tax rate allowable and with the current recession I would expect any that aren’t along with the county tax collectors will be changing that ASAP,

At Strack Insurance Services we talk to clients every day who are overwhelmed with the rising cost of owning a home. We can help you with the Insurance cost but we all need to get out and vote these propositions down.

We need to vote "No" on Nov 3, 2009

Early voting is Oct 19-30, 2009

FYI: Bills for additional homeowners taxes on a state level (in addition to local property taxes) -- Please vote on Nov 3rd.

On November 3rd, there will be Propositions 2  and 3 allowing the state of Texas to start taxing residential homeowners.

So if you own a home, and these laws are passed, you will be taxed by the state, in addition to all of the local taxes you already pay to various entities within the county.

PLEASE VOTE "NO" to Prop. 2 and 3 (HJR 36) unless you want to pay taxes to the state also for owning a home.

Proposition 2:  The proposed amendment would appear on the ballot as follows:  "The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for the ad valorem taxation of a residence homestead solely on the basis of the property's value as a residence homestead."

Proposition 3:  The proposed amendment would appear on the ballot as follows:  "The constitutional amendment providing the uniform standards and procedures for the appraisal of  property for ad valorem tax purposes".
